12,000 Americans and 62,000 Filipinos defended the Bataan Peninsula.  The Defense of Bataan was one of the most important campaigns of WW II, in the Pacific.   It destroyed the Japanese time-line for their conquest of South East Asia.  It gave the Allied forces the necessary time to rebuild their Pacific forces.  It was also America's greatest military tragedy.

Gen. Edward P. King told his men, in Camp O'Donnell, "Our mission was to lay down a bunt."  It was a very expensive bunt to lay down for the Filipinos and the Americans who defended Bataan.

Filipino Soldiers Killed on the Bataan Death March

Show your support for these "Unknown American Heroes", the soldiers of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.  From the beaches in Vigan and Damortis, down through the five defensive lines on Northern Luzon, and through battles on Bataan, Filipino Soldiers were present and performed heroically.

On April 2, 2002, members of the Battling Bastards of Bataan were installed as members of the Filipino Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor.
