THE FUTURE OF THE
BATTLING BASTARDS OF BATAAN ORGANIZATION

As I see it

For those that did not receive my email on Major Gordon, my Buddy, Dick, Fred will include the pertinent details in this issue of the Bataan Banner.  (Read Tillman's initial comments on news of Maj. Gordon's Death.)

I have been appointed to take over the duties Dick performed so well as Adjutant/Commander. I cannot replace Dick, do not intend to try, but I will pursue the course we always agreed on.

However, the BBB must undergo changes if we are to perpetuate the TRUE story of Bataan, the Bataan Death March, Camp O'Donnell and our Motto, "In Pursuit of Truth", in particular.

Our NOK's, relatives, friends and others that care need to become involved with this endeavor. Our membership needs to increase. We need your input and participation.

We need those that can, to accept positions in the BBB. It will not take up a lot of your time.

For example, we would like to have several Positions of Responsibility such as:

1. Quartermaster - Sales manager - responsible for merchandise.

2. Membership Chairperson -

3. Webmaster - Fred will continue here - there is no better. Fred is 1000% dedicated to the BBB.

4. Editor - I will do this along with Fred.

5. Philippine Representative - Mr. James Litton will continue in this important office. Jimbo is 1000% dedicated to the BBB.

6. Finance Committee - Tillman Rutledge - Fred Baldassarre - need one more if possible.

7. Treasurer - Tillman Rutledge (Checks to be signed by two people over $50)

8. Judge Advocate - Someone legally trained - with first action to pursue establishing the BBB as tax exempt. I had started on this and then Dick and decided to drop it at that time. I have someone in mind but need to check with him first. But - anyone else?

9. Chaplain - I believe the BBB needs a National Chaplain.

The addition of names to this hollowed wall MUST be validated beyond question and approved by me as the National Adjutant/Commander, in coordination with Fred Baldassarre and James Litton. This is an area that Dick and I were in complete agreement on, in most instances. Also, under no circumstances will we change the configuration as we add necessary extensions.

Other actions regarding the future of the BBB are undergoing dialog now. Members will be informed of decisions.

Based on the feedback received from members noted at the start of this presentation, I will submit my recommendations to the Board of Directors.

There is a lot to be done in the BBB. We need our members help. We hope you are willing to join in.

Respectfully,

TILLMAN J. RUTLEDGE
National Adjutant/Commander
