Dear Sirs,
I am writing
on behalf of the Regional Educational Technology Assistance Project at
New Mexico State University. Currently, we are creating a multi-media learning
module, or educational Web site, on the Battle of Bataan, the Death March
and the Prisoner of War experiences for the New Mexico State Department
of Education. We expect the learning materials to be used by middle and
high schools in the state. We will have the module available on our web
site at http://reta.nmsu.edu.
On an example of our work, please click on
http://reta.nmsu.edu/modules/tongwalk/default.htm
or
http://reta.nmsu.edu/main/lessons.html.
I am writing
to ask your permission to use several artifacts from the Battling Bastards
of Bataan site for the lesson. If we have your permission, may we use the
following: the photo of the Death March at http://home.pacbell.net/fbatdie/Death
March.html,
the photos
of Capt. Ishikawa at
http://home.pacbell.net/fbaidie/book.html,
the faces
of the prison guards at http://home.pacbell.net/fbaidie/faces.html,
and the speech
Major Gordon delivered at the Manila-American cemetery on April 2, 2002,
http://www.battlingbastardsbataan.com/MAC.htm,
and the G-4
and Surgeon of Luzon Force Report found at
http://home.pac6ell.net/fbatdie/G-4-and-Surgeon
Report.html.
If we are granted permission to use the artifacts, I will be sure to send you a link to the site when it is completed. As a non-profit New Mexico State organization, we will not gain any monetary benefit from this University project.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at 505-646-2308 or toll free at 877-999-7382.
Thank you, in advance, for your time and attention,
Sincerely,
Barbara Kuhns
